Some families choose a studio dress-rehearsal a few weeks before the communion, the dress, the suit, the smile, all captured in a calm, beautifully-lit setting before the rush of the day itself. The excitement keeps building right up to the morning, and you walk out with portraits already in hand.
Your child may not remember everything I said to them during the session, but they will always remember how it felt. Confident. Important. Loved. Surrounded by the people who matter most.
The actual communion morning is hectic. A studio session in advance means relaxed, beautifully-lit portraits without the pressure of timing it around the church.
We talk by phone or you call to the studio. We discuss who's coming, any sibling shots, special requests, and pick a day a few weeks before the communion.
Your child gets to wear the full outfit, the dress, the suit, the shoes, in the calm of the studio. It feels special, and it builds the excitement for the real day.
Sessions are 15 minutes, longer if extended family are joining. Your child will feel important and adored throughout. No rush, no chaos, no missed moments.
You return to the studio together, relax, and watch your portraits on the big screen, in colour and black & white. We talk through what you can order so you choose with confidence.
Collection day is when you see the finished prints, mounts and frames in person. Watching clients react to their finished portraits is the best part of my job.
